Requires people in good physical condition. No wheelchair, no scooters. This is a walking tour through the Cemetery so dress appropriately with comfortable walking shoes. Also dress according to the weather. Your visit may be during the hot summer days or cold winter. So bring along an umbrella, a windbreaker or any other clothing items depending on the weather changes. Also bring bottled water with you in case you need to rehydrate. Since the whole visit of the Cemetery will be on foot, this tour is not recommended for people with disabilities or health impairment. It’s not also suited for babies and children. It’s a 90-minute guided walking tour and you will have to walk through grass to reach some gravesites. The tour starts at the John F Kennedy Gravesite and takes you to the Changing of the Guard and other highlights.
Your day will start by meeting our knowledgeable guide for a beautiful 2 hour tour on foot of the Arlington National Cemetery, the final resting place for many of our nation’s greatest heroes. While walking the grounds, you will see the Changing of the Guard, Tomb of the Unknowns and Kennedy Grave site as well as hear about the dramatic origins and extensive history of this national treasure. From there, you and your guide will be picked up in our climate-controlled bus to continue your city tour of the most important monuments and memorials listed below, while seeing and learning about other points of interest as your guide narrates along the way.
At each stop, your guide will accompany you on foot to get an informative, insider’s view and great photos of each special place, before conveniently boarding the bus again to the next ones. And from March 25 to October 15, you will take a one-hour boat ride on the lovely and historic Potomac River to experience DC’s monuments and views from the unique perspective of the water. You will also have a lunch break at either the scenic Georgetown waterfront (March 25-October) or Pentagon City (October-March 24) where you can purchase lunch from one of several delicious locations.
